MORI Associates is seeking a Business Development Lead to support our strategic and growth market initiatives. This position will be intimately involved with pursuits across the full continuum of the Business Development (BD) process. The position will report to the Vice President of Business Development and will play an integral role in executing MORI’s strategic growth initiatives.


Location:


This position is base of operations will be in the greater Huntsville, Alabama area or potentially near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. There will be an occasional requirement to travel to the MORI Associates Headquarters in Rockville, MD, or client/teammate locations for proposal team meetings.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Help develop plans, strategies, value propositions, and business cases to grow in MORI’s current markets and to expand MORI’s presence at NASA, National Security Space and Commercial Space markets.
  • Contribute to tasks associated with BD and assist with Capture activities such as Requests for Information, data calls, teaming deliberations, capability gap analyses, probability of win and price-to-win deliberations, gate reviews, color team reviews, etc.
  • Generate related white papers and PowerPoint briefings as required or directed.


Desired Experience:


  • 5 to 10 years’ of NASA related business experience and knowledge of pursuit of Federal contracts
  • In-depth knowledge of NASA and related Centers and Activities
  • Experience with Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, and/or Media and Communications is desirable
  • Completion of an industry-recognized Federal proposal writing or proposal management course of instruction is a plus
  • A strong personal and professional network across the breadth of current and future markets and clients is essential

  • Able to work well individually as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-initiation and flexibility to occasionally adjust workday to requirements of Federal clients, teammates, and MORI leaders across several time zones
  • Strong skills working with both internal and external proposal resources
  • Ability to manage more than one activity or pursuit simultaneously, in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to plan and prioritize; effective time management
  • Detail-oriented; sound judgment


Technical Proficiency:


  • Working familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Google Docs
  • Familiarity with the following online tools: DelTek GovWin IQ, System for Award Management (SAM), GSA E-library
  • Familiarity with online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams


You must be able to pass a Public Trust investigation by the U.S. government.
